One of Nike’s most innovative sneakers, Air Max was first introduced in 1987, catering specifically to runners, The signature see-through Air Sole attracted the attention of consumers and runners, and continues to be a staple in the market. This season, the folks at Nike took cues from Air Max and created an original - Air Maxim 1.

The new Air Maxim 1 is 66% lighter than the Original Air Max 1, clocking in at only 10.1 oz. This is made possible by both the Acespan Mesh that was developed in 2008 for the Lunar Racer, and also a new Flywire technology used in the 2008 Zoom Victory Spike. Available in a blue and red, the Air Maxim also feature interesting translucent rip-stop nylon upper that is stylistically reminiscent of the see through Air Soles. Available in Fall 2009.

The air maxim one is not a high top sneaker.  It just isnt even close.  It is part of however nikes legendary air max series of trainers.  the air maxim was a popular 2009 release that combined some of the design and elements that made the air max so popular together into one hot new shoe that everyone wanted to get their hands on.  In my personal opinion, the thing that made this shoe unattractive to me was that they released it with a strap on the bottom of the shoe.  I have never once in my life thought to myself that any sneaker I have owned would be better with a strap at the bottom where you normally start the lacing on your sneaker.  I love shoes with a strap on the top.  they are by far the most convient place to put a strap on the top but why on the bottom.  Why nike???? what were you thinking.  I guess we will never know hahah
